Planning a
Special Family
Vacation
With super-soft sand and warm, shallow water that’s calm and safe for kids, Maui is a can’t-miss family destination. You can lounge on the beach, hike alongside waterfalls, and explore nature on the Hawaiian Islands. My family moved to Maui when I was in third grade, and we lived on the island until I started high school. The last time I visited was for my babymoon in 2018, so I’m looking forward to returning and showing my nine-month-old son and three-year-old daughter where I grew up.
I love taking trips with rewards I’ve earned (especially now that there are four of us!), which is one of the reasons I’m obsessed with the Venture X card from Capital One. This credit card makes it easy to book every aspect of your trip, beginning with the outbound flight. Cardholders enjoy free price drop protection on flights recommended by and booked through Capital One Travel. That means Capital One Travel keeps monitoring the price of the flight after you buy it. And if the price drops, you’ll get a refund for all or part of the price difference.
When you book a hotel through Capital One Travel, you can feel confident you’re getting a great room rate because Capital One Travel proactively matches or beats hotel rates offered by competitors to give you the best price. Plus, with Venture X you earn 10X miles on hotels and rental cars and 5X miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel. The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is going to be our home base during this trip. It has great amenities, including several dining options and an amazing spa where you can get facials, massages, and more. The location on the water is ideal — it’s situated in a cove and there aren’t a lot of waves — so our itinerary will include a few lazy beach days.
