Traveling
Like a Pro

The ethos of luxury travel is more than just the unique souvenirs you pick up at your destination (though, the souvenirs are worthwhile, too!) — it’s the act of elevating your journey every step of the way. From the pre-flight Champagne in the lounge to the lie-flat seat affording you a good night’s sleep as you fly across the Atlantic — these experiences are what it’s all about.

Here’s what some travel editors won’t tell you: You can treat yourself to these five-star perks and more by being a Capital One Venture X cardholder. With Venture X, you’ll receive unlimited free access to Capital One Lounges and over 1,300 Priority Pass lounges worldwide. Each year, you’ll also get up to $300 back in credits for bookings through Capital One Travel — not to mention the 75,000-mile bonus you can receive when you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. With Venture X, it’s easy to elevate every step of your getaway.

My Dream Italian Itinerary

If there’s one luxury trip I’m ready to embark on, it’s a sojourn on the Amalfi Coast. The gorgeous southern Italian towns along the Tyrrhenian Sea — Positano, Praiano, Amalfi, Ravello — are drenched in sunshine, cocktails, and the gentle spray of the Gulf of Salerno. And nothing motivates me to travel quite like the promise of a negroni, a bowl of homemade pasta, and a hotel room with a seaside view.

With the Venture X card from Capital One, you can book every aspect of this trip with ease and confidence using the premium tools on the Capital One Travel booking experience. Cardholders enjoy free price drop protection, which means if you book a flight when Capital One Travel recommends and the price decreases afterward, they’ll refund some or all of the difference. They also proactively match or beat hotel rates offered by competitors to give you the best price.

Capital One Travel also makes it easy to book some of the most luxurious hotels the Amalfi Coast has to offer. The one I’m eyeing to kickstart my Italian holiday is Le Sirenuse Positano. The property is a convergence of hospitality, food, and fashion — they don’t just have a room with a view here; they’ve got a hotel with a contemporary-chic clothing line. Their famed La Sponda Restaurant offers next-level ambience and to-die-for dishes like decadent seafood pastas. When I’m not enjoying Positano’s world-class pasta, I plan to soak up some sun at Fornillo and Arienzo beaches.

Praiano is home to the one and only Casa Angelina, where I've always wanted to take my husband. To say Casa Angelina is the quintessential Amalfi Coast hotel might be an understatement. The lemon-tree-trimmed pool overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea is what dreams are made of. My husband and I are hikers and Praiano is perfectly situated on the Path of the Gods, a popular Amalfi Coast hiking trail.

Moving northeast up the coast from Positano and Praiano is Amalfi, followed by Ravello, the last two destinations on my dream Amalfi Coast itinerary. Amalfi, for me, is about soaking up the centuries-in-the-making culture of southern Italy, from a visit to the Duomo and the Fountain of Sant’Andrea, to climbing the steps of Museo Diocesano di Amalfi. I’d like to conclude my Amalfi Coast stint at Caruso, a Belmond Hotel, in Ravello, once an 11th-century palace. The intimate hotel, with only 50 rooms and suites, is the perfect spot to spend the last hours of an Amalfi holiday.

By using the Venture X card on culinary adventures, coastal excursions, high-end souvenirs, chic hotels, and more on this Amalfi Coast itinerary, you can continue to rack up miles to put toward your next big adventure. That’s a true luxury. Where will Venture X take you?
