Experience the Berkshires’
Evolving Sophistication

New Yorkers in search of small-town sophistication, lush green spaces, and a vibrant arts and culture scene need look no further than the Berkshire Mountains. Hop into your new Ford Expedition and head to one of the Northeast’s most beautiful regions. We teamed up with Ford to bring you this one-of-a-kind expedition.

Quaint tree-lined roads are a Berkshire signature.

Go for the Foliage, Stay for the Scallops

Come October, the Berkshires turn from verdant green to a rainbow of reds, yellows, and oranges that make the hillsides seem even more inviting and lush—especially when you’re riding inside the quiet interior of the Ford Expedition. Head to the elegant town of Stockbridge for a visit to Naumkeag, a 44-room, 19th-century country estate surrounded by eight acres of terraced gardens. For the perfect end to a fall day, stop for a dinner of autumn bisque and pan-seared local scallops at Chez Nous, a top-rated French restaurant in nearby Lee. With smart driver-assist technologies including Lane Keeping System and Pre-Collision Assist,1 you'll traverse the region's backcountry roads in your 2018 Ford Expedition like a pro.

Take In Some Song and Dance

Anyone visiting this area needs to stop at Tanglewood, the famous home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The outdoor concert venue and nature preserve has played host to famous classic composers as well as contemporary jazz legends. With Expedition's available SYNC® Connect2 and Wi-Fi® hotspot3 you can browse the Tanglewood schedule on your phone and buy tickets for your favorite folk artist concerts, classical performances, and more. To continue your cultural cruise, head to nearby Jacob’s Pillow, the world-famous—and architecturally stunning—dance studio where some of the greatest ballet and modern dancers train and perform under the direction of award-winning choreographers.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Don’t forget to pack binoculars. You might spot wrens, starlings, and mockingbirds.

Stop at Bartlett’s Orchard for all things apple, including cider and cider doughnuts.

You can hike a section of the Appalachian Trail in local October Mountain State Forest.

Get an eyeful of art

Next point the Expedition north toward the new art mecca of North Adams, where you can visit the MASS MoCA, a contemporary art destination set inside an 1800s textile mill. It strives to feature evocative art—whether it is hanging on a wall or being performed on stage. At the start of last summer, the museum expanded its gallery space by 130,000 square feet.

Right down the street in a sprawling, restructured cotton-spinning plant is Greylock WORKS, a mixed-use space that promotes innovators in local food and design. The space is home to events like seasonal gift markets, jazz performances, and theater festivals. The massive building will wow you—especially when viewed through the available Panoramic Vista Roof—while the performances will enrich you.

In North Adams, MASS MoCA is a world-class creative hub.

Rejuvenate in style

On your jaunt back south, make a final stop at the famous Canyon Ranch, a holistic health and wellness spa that gives clients “a 360-degree reflection of the one and only you.” The resort offers more than just massages and facials for its guests; the spa menu includes painting classes in addition to a high ropes adventure course and tai chi. The lucky few who get to experience a stay at this exclusive retreat never forget it—and usually cannot wait to go back.

Ford Expedition styling conveys the best of what a full-size SUV can offer—remarkable comfort with an upscale attitude. The sculpted fluid sides convey confidence and capability wherever your journey takes you.
